SEGA announced that Sonic the Hedgehog‘s Tails is set to be a Vtuber (that’s ‘Virtual Youtuber’, grandpa) with a new series called ‘TailsTube’ starting next week.
The series will be “fun and informative” and will likely focus on the history of the Sonic franchise, characters, and specific games. It’s unlikely any major announcements will be made through the series, but we’ve seen strange things!
Tails will be voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessey in the first English-dubbed Sonic Vtube series. However, this is not the first time SEGA has experimented with the format. On Sonic’s 30th Anniversary, the green hedgehog himself became a Vtuber, though only for a short time. However, it looks like TailsTube is set to be a more permanent endeavor.
