Canon’s Premium Ultra Wide Angle Lens Coming Soon
The Canon RF line of lenses is growing well, although there is still a gaping hole at the ultra-wide-angle end of the lineup. Thankfully, though, that may soon change, with a premium ultra-wide-angle lens coming soon.
Canon rumor is Report that Canon is planning to release an ultra-wide lens in the first half of this year. Although there are RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM, lenses with considerably wider focal lengths have become more popular in the last few years, and I think Canon wants to follow up with the EF 11-24mm f/4L with some RF version. I’m a big fan of The original EF 11-24mm f/4L in my reviewand I doubt a new version will be popular, especially with landscape and architecture photographers. Recently, three patents have appeared for such a lens alone: RF 10-24mm f/4, RF 9-18mm f/4 and RF 11-24mm f/4. If I had to guess, I would suspect the 10-24mm f/4 is the most likely to hit the market. Canon has shown they want to extend the capabilities of RF lenses a little beyond their EF lenses, and this particular design has been rumored for several years. Hopefully, we will get more news soon!
