When it was confirmed that Tears of the Kingdom would share the same world as Breath of the Wild, I must admit I was a bit disappointed. When it comes to Zelda games, I want something completely new, but this is a direct sequel that basically just reuses the same environment. Pooey!

Oh, how wrong I was. The changes made in Tears of the Kingdom are truly amazing, and it makes the idea of ​​a third game set in the same Hyrule infinitely more bearable. Now we’ve seen what the game can do with increased verticality; specifically the Islands of Sky and Depth, so I wanted to explore this further. How about some underwater segments in lakes and seas? Why not go even further into the sky? Can you imagine a Zelda game with super mario galaxy-Inspirational physics and gameplay?

Failing that, I’d love to see another realm in the Zelda universe treated to the open world, as TotK’s version of Hyrule might be the best we’ve ever had. How about Termina, or an expanded Koholint Island? Just imagine seeing Mt. Tamaranch in the distance with the Windfish’s egg perched on top – great!

Do I want a second Zelda game with the same Hyrule? No I did not. Now do I want a third game with the same Hyrule? You bet your Bokoblin Guts I do.

There are so many different ways I’d like to see Nintendo implement a new element into the old world. Sure, you can make it bigger, deeper or More densebut the Zelda fan in me would really love to see the third game follow the path we’ve seen in a lot of games before and give me some leaps and bounds.

Think of the Dark World from A path to the past or Lorule from The Connection Between Worlds. These games take ‘Hyrule with a twist’ and stick with it on top of the map we know more and more about. Who would say that ‘Breath of the Wild 3’ (temporary title) can’t do the same thing? Perhaps there will be some rift in this giant Hyrule that, when crossed, will reveal the same world as the original, only distinctive. Great!

I think there are a lot of ways the Tears of the Kingdom sequel could build on Hyrule, but I can’t lie and say I don’t want something a little different for the sequels. We know this open-world gameplay will become the norm for the upcoming series, so it’s time to explore Zelda’s history and expand on some of our favorite Zelda worlds.

So the correct answer is Termina from Majora’s mask, Right? With countless side quests in Tears of the Kingdom, it’s time to return to one of the weirdest Zelda games and the best central town in the series and let all the stories, characters, and events… that anomaly takes place in a larger world.

I’m not saying it’s a Majora’s Mask remake, but there’s so much potential in Termina that surely Nintendo can create a truly unsettling open world adventure? We’ve already seen what’s possible with one of the maps in TOTK, so why not ramp up the scares for the whole game? Also, there’s Tingle. We need more Tingles in our lives.

Also, why not embrace what Four Swords And Four Swords Adventure did but improve it? Yep, I’m talking multiplayer. Probably not cooperating, but I totally will Love to play the Breath of the Wild style game with my friends and mess around with nothing of meaningful value. I can’t imagine this being easy to do at all, but I can dream, can’t I?

I’m definitely leaning towards the Termina style shift on the template, as Alana mentioned above. I am an avid fan of doubles and doubles, and how they can inculcate our impressions of people we think we already know. While my memories of BOTW are dominated by exploration and moments of discovery, being back in the same place in TOTK also shows how much I enjoy the people and interactions in that world.
