Washington Governor Jay Inslee, like Governor Newsom of California, is demanding his state move towards an all-electric state. In doing so, Inslee is demonstrating the limitations of his vision, as he cannot see the bad side of the world that is required to have his wind, sun, and tram.

The blades of a wind turbine are made from a tough yet flexible blend of plastic and fiberglass—similar to which spacecraft components are made. Decommissioned blades are difficult to transport and expensive. They can be 100 to 300 feet long and must be chopped on site before being transported by specialized equipment to a landfill that may not be able to accommodate the blades. Capacity landfills may not have large enough equipment to crush them.

Hazardous waste can only be transported at designated times and through selected routes.
