Happy Sunday everyone; welcome to another edition of ‘Box Art Brawl’!

We have another great result for you this week, but let’s take a look at the previous results first. Last timewe present the classic GameCube from Rare Ltd, Star Fox Adventures. Criminally underrated at the time of release, this action-adventure title has nevertheless earned considerable respect from Nintendo fans in the years since.

As for the Box Art Brawl, it was another showdown in which North America and Europe teamed up to take on Japan. It’s not an ending either; Western design clearly resonated with readers, capturing 79% of the vote.

This week, we’re moving forward to look at another, more underrated title on the Nintendo 3DS: Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. Mini-game that takes the mercenary’s name from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5The Mercenaries 3D is a good action title, but fails to impress fans hoping for a fit Resident Evil game on 3DS. That won’t happen until a year later, when Resident Evil: Revelations launched in 2012.

This time, the western designs are similarbut different enough for us to have a proper three-way battle, so without further ado, let’s get started!

Be sure to cast your vote in the poll below; But first, let’s check out the box art designs.

North America

The North American design for The Mercenaries 3D stars RE veteran Chris Redfield coming face-to-face with Resident Evil 5 as the saw-wielding doctor Dr. Salvador: The Executioner. It’s a striking image, for sure, with the background adding impact with explosive textures and effects.

Europe

European design, on the other hand, has a similar image, but on a pure white background. It actually works quite well when it comes to bringing the more abstract design to North America, which is said to make Chris Redfield and the Executioner stand out even more.

Japan

The Japanese design is a bit different, opting instead to focus on some of the characters you’ll play as in The Mercenaries 3D. You have Chris Redfield, his sister Claire, Jack “Witness the Power” Krauser, and HUNK. Honestly, why Capcom chose to omit Albert Wesker here is a bit of a confusing choice, but we’ll let it slide. Overall though, it’s a pretty cool image!

Thanks for voting! We’ll see you next time in another round of Box Art Brawl.
