Borderlands ‘Tiny Tina DLC is now standalone and free from the Epic store

Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep was originally a border zone 2 DLC, but it’s now available as a standalone release called Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure. It acts as a taste of what is to come in its successor, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, due next year.

While Dragon Keep will charge a fee on Steam, it’s available for free on the Epic Games Store for a week.

You can go to Its epic game store to use it for free anytime between now and 4pm on Nov 16. Then – and on Steam right now – it will cost £8/€10.

Assault On Dragon Keep is basically a fantasy spinoff to Borderlands, set in a world TTRPG game called Bunkers & Badasses. You’re still using guns, but now to shoot fantasy creatures and its story uses sublime storytelling to poke fun at lots of fantasy games with typical Borderlands style. (I define that style as: “to”.)

I’m curious how it holds up. This re-release of Dragon Keep looks similar to the original, but with “brand new loot and cosmetics.” However, a lot of what’s appealing and commendable about the original release is that it does more and goes beyond a typical piece of DLC. Removed from that context, I wonder what that feels like.

Likewise, I wonder how Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will feel when it clearly takes the idea of Dragon Keep and gives them a full-game mode next year. It will be released on March 25, 2022.
