After making us cringe for even mentioning a PC release for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square Enix casually announced at The Game Awards tonight, oh hey, it’s coming next week. That’s all. Next Thursday, December 16, FF7 Remake will arrive on PC as an extended Intergrade. Like many other recent Square Enix RPG portals (and as expected), it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
Final Fantasy 7 is perhaps the most popular game in the series, which has sold millions of PlayStations. It basically looks like real life! Or so my friend insisted. It tells the story of Cloud Strife, a super mercenary turned superhero who joins a group of eco-terrorists fighting a planet-destroying megacorp, and who refuses to admit that he likes anything. anything or anyone even though he’s clearly a giant doofus softie. baby.
While the original featured turn-based combat, the remake turns it into a 3D action game with a tactical pause.
Squeenix’s pretty cool remake of JRPG 1997 launched on PlayStation 4 in April 2020, then in June 2021 to PS5 in the extended Intergrade version. Along with looking better, obvs (including repairs that damn door), it adds a new chapter starring Yuffie. Even in this form, it still lacks the full game, mind, which is only about a third of the original game. It was a huge undertaking to expand the 90s JRPG into a full 3D game. And a huge effort to make Cloud look beautiful.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available on PC via the Epic Games Store on December 16.
