Bob Arum: “Jared [Anderson] Reminds me of a young Muhammad Ali”

Tyson Fury is, at least according to most, considered the heaviest heavyweight in the world.

That said, at 33, Fury is much closer to the end of his boxing journey than the beginning. Although promoter Bob Arum is enjoying his time promoting his heavyweight fights, he believes Jared Anderson is ready and ready to replace him when Fury decides to leave.

Arum told Sky Sports: “Yes, that’s what I really believe he will be. “When Fury hangs up his gloves, Jared will be in pole position to be the next heavyweight contender.”

So far, the 22-year-old Anderson continues to impress. In particular, in 2021, the highly rated outlook has an extremely strong schedule. After four stoppage-time wins, Anderson received praise from Fury himself. The current WBC heavyweight has ranked Anderson as a future world champion following a second-round knockout victory over Oleksandr Teslenko.

While Fury continued to praise him, Arum took his admiration for Anderson to the next level.

“Mike Tyson is a terrible boxer who doesn’t show much boxing ability. Jared showed off his boxing abilities and strength. He reminds me of a young Muhammad Ali.”

In order to instill confidence in Anderson, Arum wanted to unite with him in a tough way. With Fury officially closed in the competition with former champion Deontay Wilder, Arum is now looking to ignite the fire of rivalry between Wilder and Anderson.

Before his three-part battle series with Fury, Wilder ruthlessly halted every heavyweight he entered the ring. Even with his record currently being smeared by Fury, Arum still considers him an outstanding boxer with a one-of-a-kind punch. Regardless of the coolest words Arum uses to describe Wilder, however, the longtime promoter believes that by the end of the year, Anderson will be ready to take on him.

“Wilder is an amazing talent. He hit like a mule, as Tyson will attest. Pretty much anyone in the heavyweight class would lose to Wilder. The only one who will be equipped to defeat him, by the end of the year, is Anderson. I will be prepared to discuss a potential fight between Wilder and Anderson later this year. We are preparing him to be the next heavyweight champion after Fury. ”
