It’s very possible Blake Lively felt pretty comfortable in her outfit at Gigi Hadid’s birthday party in New York this past weekend, as it suited the character that kicked off her career: Serena van der Woodsen. If you know anything about her logo Gossip Girl character, you know her outings are hardly of the low-key type. As someone who has watched every episode of Gossip Girl IRL, I can confirm that there have been many instances where Lively wore the classic go-out formula of a super-short mini skirt and heels. And hey, that’s exactly what she wore to Hadid’s birthday party.
For the festive season, Hadid wore a bright red Sergio Hudson dress with a red Chanel clutch and red Christian Louboutin heels. And if someone were to look at the photo without context, they could easily mistake it for a Gossip Girl night shoot 13 years ago.
