Biden urges CEOs of 3M, CVS, FedEx, Citi, and others to join his Export Panel on Trade

Our President Joe Biden appointed the heads Citigroup, unified airline, CVS, 3M And FedExamong other top executives, sit on the White House advisory committee that oversees international trade.

The President’s Export Council provides recommendations and insights into how government policies impact U.S. commerce. The group also provided feedback on how Biden’s trade policies are affecting businesses in sectors ranging from industry, labor to agriculture.

DC entrepreneur Mark D. Ein will chair the board. He is currently the president of Lindblad Expeditions and Kastle Systems, and sits on the boards of the Custom Truck One Source and Membership Collective Group. Walgreens Shoe Alliance Chief Executive Officer Rosalind Brewer will serve as vice chairman of the board. Previously, she served as the CEO and group president of Starbucks and CEO of Sam’s Club.

The 25-member Board of Directors includes: Dana Walden, co-chair of Disney Entertainment; Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup; Michael F. Roman, president and CEO of 3M; Rajesh Subramaniam, president and chief executive officer of FedEx; Karen S. Lynch, president and chief executive officer of CVS; John Lawler, CFO of Ford; Gareth Joyce, Managing Director at Proterra; Brett Hart, president of United Airlines; Beth Ford, president and chief executive officer of Land O’Lakes; and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano R. Amon.

The Export Council has expertise from labor, real estate, national security and law, and leaders of Fortune 200 companies. Biden has previously contacted several executives to seek advice on the state of the economy.

Other members include: Raymond E. Curry Jr., president of the UAW union; Rich Lesser, global president of Boston Consulting Group; Patrick E. Murphy, former resident and investment director of Coastal Construction Group; Robert G. Martinez Jr., international president of the International Association of Aerospace and Machine Workers; Daniel Rosen, CEO of real estate firm Rosen Partners; and Brett Isaac, co-founder and executive chairman of Navajo Power.

Other members of the board include:

  • Lisa Disbrow, a national security expert who served as the Deputy Secretary of the Air Force;
  • Lacy M. Johnson, partner in charge of law firm Taft’s DC;
  • Juan Verde, strategist and consultant at Santander Bank Investments and the World Bank;
  • Michelle W. Singer, senior vice president of political engagement at Comcast;
  • Farnam Jahanian, president of Carnegie Mellon University;
  • Paul A. Laudicina, president emeritus of consulting firm AT Kearney; And
  • Deloitte Global CEO Punit Renjen.
