All in all, Canelo Alvarez is considered to be the best boxer the sport of boxing has to offer.
No matter the weight class and regardless of his opponent, Alvarez reigned supreme, robbing world titles after world titles in countless weight classes.
In less than 4 weeks, Alvarez will be looking to strip Dmitry Bivol of the WBA light heavyweight title. Despite being seen as a sizable game, many still assume that Bivol will present a star-studded weightlifter with some nasty challenges.
Off the growing pitch around Bivol and the chance to take down Alvarez, the Russian star maintains overwhelming confidence in his abilities.
However, when Bernard Hopkins analyzed the fighting styles of both fighters, he could not determine where Bivol would have an advantage. Finally, for those who believe Bivol will shock the world on May 7, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Hopkins is convinced that Alvarez will not only end Bivol’s world title reign, but he will do so in violent and brutal fashion.
“Canelo won by knockout before the seventh round,” Hopkins said in a recent interview with FightHype.com.
An effortless night for Alvarez will be the consistent theme of the Mexican star in his past games. With three straight knockout wins over Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant — the latter of which led to their fourth and final world championship at 168 pounds around the waist, Hopkins was impressed by the results. what he saw from Alvarez.
Furthermore, Hopkins not only thinks Bivol’s chances of winning are relatively slim, the former two-division world champion also doesn’t consider anyone in any weight class to compete with Alvarez.
“I don’t see anyone in boxing right now who can match that.”
