Bangkok 2023: Kawasaki Eliminator 400 cruiser revealed

The Kawasaki Eliminator 400 2024 will appear at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS). Now expected to be a model for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) next year, Kawasaki Thailand has listed the Eliminator 400 on its website.

The Eliminator 400 on display at BIMS has a price tag of 224,900 baht (RM29,182) in keeping with its type and capacity. It remains to be seen whether Malaysian importer and distributor Modenas/EMOS will release the Eliminator 400 locally, considering Kawasaki Vulcan S650 just launched for RM36,500.

Power of the Eliminator 400 comes from a parallel, DOHC, eight-valve, 399 cc, liquid-cooled, six-speed transmission with a chain-link ultimate. No power figures were provided at BIMS for the Eliminator 400 but 48hp figures with plenty of ultra-low torque have been mentioned in the international media.

The controls of the Eliminator 400 are centrally located, along with a low seat height of 735 mm, making this cruiser suitable for a wide range of riders, especially new riders and those with short pants. Controls include traction control and dual-channel ABS as standard.

Stopping is done with a single 310 mm hydraulic disc at the front with piston foot brake calipers while the rear is a 240 mm disc with two-piston calipers. Suspension uses telescopic forks at the front, which are non-adjustable, while twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers hold the rear end.

Kawasaki’s Rideology app connects to the Eliminator 400’s tools via Bluetooth, allowing riders to access vehicle functions. This includes information such as fuel, speedometer and maintenance reminders, as well as GPS-oriented driving logs, phone function management and dashboard settings.
