All relationships take effort, and Sheryl Lee Ralph talking about how she and Sen. Vincent Hughes (D-Pa.) caused their nearly 18-year marriage to take place from opposite poles of the country.

Sheryl Lee Ralph Says A Bilateral Relationship Needs “An Incredible Trust”

The Abbott Elementary School the actress talked about her two-coastal marriage in an interview with AARP Magazine, which was broadcast live on Tuesday (July 25).

As Sheryl has a thriving entertainment career while Vincent enjoys doing politics in Keystone State, they lead different daily lives while remaining completely committed to each other.

For others trying to make this happen, Sheryl Lee Ralph says “incredible trust” is needed.

Sheryl also notes that Vincent is “worried” if they don’t see each other “every two weeks”, suggesting that the couple should arrange jet lag pretty much so that things go smoothly at their respective homes in Los Angeles and Philadelphia!

“You have to have an incredible amount of faith in other people. We spend a lot of time talking to each other. But if he doesn’t see me every two weeks, he gets a little worried.

Finally, she added sweetly, “I married the man who became my best friend.” Love to see it!

Sheryl recalls living with Vincent “24/7” during the pandemic: “It was amazing”

Continuing to talk about her relationship with Vincent Hughes, Sheryl Lee Ralph mentioned that they really have a chance to live together during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We were together 24/7 and that was amazing. I thought, Wow, I like this man.”

As for whether Sheryl and Vincent foresee them living together again, she coyly stated, “We’ll have to see.”

Besides her relationship with Vincent, Sheryl also commented on her previous marriage to Eric Maurice. This union gave her two children: Etienne and Coco.

“My children are my greatest gift. I knew I was going to be someone’s mother. When I met their father, my first husband, I could see my children as clearly as they are alive now, and I said, ‘Oh, I know the mission right here.’ We are married and have a son, Etienne, and our daughter, Coco.”

After remarking that her failed marriage “lasted almost ten years,” she stated, “If I have one regret in life, it’s that I didn’t have more children.”
