Hypergryph and Yostar’s tower defense gacha RPG Arknights has a strong focus on contemporary music from composers and freelance artists for its soundtrack. So much so that its fans often joke that Hypergryph is a music company more like a game developer. In fact, Hypergryph even released Arknights commercial music under the label Monster Siren Records, which is also the name of an in-game record label. In 2021, the company organizes Arknights Ambience Synesthesia, a special live concert in China that includes tracks from the game’s various events and the artists who performed them. Unfortunately for global fans, the concert is exclusively for Chinese audiences. That changes this year, because The 2022 edition of the event will be broadcast simultaneously with a global audience.
The announcement was made on August 31, 2022 through Arknights Ambience Synesthesia Twitter account. The account promises that the concert will be broadcast globally, and also teases upcoming outfits using the in-game fashion brand of the same name.
Here’s the trailer for the spotlight announcement. It teases several groups of Operators from Arknights wearing the Ambience Synesthesia outfit. Prominent executives include Mr. Nothing, Dusk, Texas, Eyjafjalla, Amiya, Hoshiguma, Phantom, Mudrock, Tequila, and many more. As in the previous concert, these groups will perform different compositions as separate units. Some of the outfits they’re wearing can be released into the in-game shop later, for use by their respective characters.
For example, the group of Mudrock, Phantom, Tequila and Reed are called “Phenomenal Agents”, and will perform in concert. Hypergryph also released a “focal cinematic concept trailer” that uses 3D animations to present a secret agent-like atmosphere with the characters.
The Arknights Ambience Synesthesia Concert 2022 will broadcast globally in October 2022. The game is available on iOS and Android. One anime adaptation of its original plot is in production.
