Are drones allowed on cruise ships?

Drones – small remotely controlled flying devices, many equipped with cameras – have become one of the best ways to take aerial photos of some of the world’s most beautiful destinations, as well like the footage of a cruise ship. With that in mind, many travelers are naturally curious about whether they can use a drone while on a cruise, and if they can fly a drone while on a cruise ship. .

At the time of publication, only three of the industry’s eight major cruise lines allow passengers to bring drones on board.

Even in cases where the use of drones is allowed, cruisers cannot fly them off the ship. They are for port use only, and cruisers are responsible for complying with all local regulations, including rules for how far drones must be from buildings, boats and restricted areas. , such as the airport. In some cases, locations may require a drone license. Passengers who fail to follow any of these regulations risk being fined or having their drones confiscated by cruise ships or local authorities.

Here is a list of cruise ship drone policies.
