Florida-based construction company Apocalypse builds six-wheel off-road vehicles, and that was only a matter of time ago. a Ford Bronco rolls out of its workshop with an extra shaft. Called Dark Horse, the first example would be Auction off by Barrett-Jackson in April 2022.
“Significantly modified” doesn’t begin to describe this vans. The biggest and most obvious modifications are found in the back, where Bronco gain an axle to provide six wheel drive. Its installation required widening of the frame, quarter panels and wheel arches. Apocalypse fitted the Dark Horse with a custom hard top and left most of the additional metal panels covered to create a cargo box. Rumor has it that Ford can add a pickup truck based on Bronco its scope in the coming years; this isn’t it, but it’s an interesting idea.
Beyond the obvious, the Dark Horse stands out from the stock Bronco with its raised suspension, Fuel wheels and after-sales both ends. It’s not exactly subtle, but it’s a lot lower than some of the other builds of the Apocalypse —including some of its Jeep-based trucks.
While the builder Dodge’s With the V8 392 or Hellcat in many of its creations, stuffing a Chrysler-sourced engine into a Ford product would be a step too far. Instead, the power for the Dark Horse comes from the improvement of Bronco’s twin-turbo V6 engine. Step inside, by opening the doors or jumping in if they’ve been removed, and you’ll notice that the seats are upholstered.

Apocalypse has begun taking orders for the second examples. , Tuesday and Wednesday. Pricing has yet to be announced, but don’t expect this six-wheeled giant to be cheap: Warlord six wheeler, based on Ram 1500 TRX sold for $275,000 at a Barrett-Jackson auction in January 2022.
