Winner of the Wide Angle and Underwater Photographer of the Year category: Rafael Fernandez Caballero (Spain)

UPY announced contest winner 2022, named Rafael Fernandez Caballero Underwater Photographer of the Year for this shot of five whale sharks attracted by plankton gathered in the light from a boat. As usual, there were a lot of DPgers among the winners and runners-up in the other category, but it was also great to see so many new names among the winners.
