Anne Rice, Who Wrote ‘Interview with a Vampire, Dies at 80: NPR

Anne Rice, the gothic novelist widely known for her best-selling novel “Interview with the Vampire,” died late Saturday at the age of 80.
Her son, Christopher Rice, made the announcement on her Facebook page and her Twitter page.
“In her final hours, I sat by her bedside in awe of her achievement and courage,” Christopher Rice wrote in the statement.
Anne Rice is the author of the 1976 novel “Interview with a Vampire”, which was later adapted into a film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in 1994. It is also expected to be portrayed in a drama on AMC and AMC+ in 2022.
Rice is expected to be proposed in a private ceremony at the family mausoleum in New Orleans at an undisclosed date, according to the statement. A birthday celebration will take place next year.
