In a shocking twist, LSU Tigers athlete Angel Reese is returning to her earlier statement that she will Are not accepted the Bidens’ invitation to the White House.
Specifically, since she’s a “team player,” she’s putting her emotions aside and will be visiting the Bidens with the LSU basketball team.
Angel Reese recalls impact of Jill Biden offer: ‘We were hurt’
Reese shared this update while appearing on ESPN’s Sports Centre on Friday, and she began by acknowledging her earlier stance.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Angel Reese stepped into the comments section of TSR’s Instagram and addressed the invitation by stating, “WE’RE NOT COME. Stage.”
The announcement comes after Dr. Jill Biden said that both LSU and the Iowa Hawkeyes deserve to share in the honor, which is different from the tradition of inviting only NCAA champions.
Regarding the decision, Reese recently recalled Jill Biden’s offer to “hurt.” [the team] in this moment.” She added, “It was very emotional for us because we knew how hard we had worked all year for everything.”
“Initially, we were hurt. We’re so moved because we know how hard we’ve worked all year for everything… It’s heartbreaking for us right now.”

Athlete Says She ‘Will Do What’s Best For The Team’
However, after the LSU Athletics Department accepted the invitation, Reese said she would pass and join her team at the White House.
“I know my team definitely wants to go through, and my coach supports that. So I will do what’s best for the team. We will go. It was hard to see that at first—but I think we’ll all come together and everything will be fine.”
She added, “I am a team player. I will do what’s best for the team—I’m the captain, [and] I know the team will love it.”
Of course, the Baltimore County native also admits that it’s good to visit her woods again. She also shared that she was delighted to be able to meet her cousin, University of Connecticut star and fellow NCAA champion Jordan Hawkins, at the White House.
