Amir Khan’s family needs to tell him to wake up, says Carl Frampton

Former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton said Amir Khan’s family needed to intervene and tell him to avoid a rematch.

In February, Khan was defeated by longtime rival Kell Brook in a fierce battle of years.

The one-sided nature of this result has led many in the industry to say that Khan should retire after a long and successful career.

Khan-Brook promoter Ben Shalom recently revealed that the former Olympic medalist is considering activating the rematch clause to rematch Brook again.

In his column for Belfast Telegraph BT boxing expert said: “At one time, Khan was an incredible boxer and he was a legend in the ring because of what he has accomplished in the sport, from Olympic silver to Olympic silver medals. what he has achieved as a professional: win world titles and fight the biggest names in the sport.

“It’s been an incredible career, but he’s considering fighting and for me it’s almost as greedy as he must be in the bank.

“After the performance he produced against Kell Brook and wanting a rematch with him, I think his family and those closest to him need to sit down and tell him to be wise.”
