Amir Khan on how he will take on Mayweather

Amir Khan has given his verdict on how the fight against former weight champion Floyd Mayweather will play out, and has made no secret of the fact that he believes he will win.

Talk to Gary Neville about the former Manchester United captain’s YouTube series, OverlappingKhan says he believes his heralded pace will be too much for Mayweather.

“I beat him. Honestly, I’d beat Mayweather if I was in my prime and he was in his prime.”

“I’m going to get a lot of hate for this – but you have to believe in yourself.”

“I think stylistically my speed will beat his speed, my movement will beat his movement and he really isn’t the biggest puncher in the game.”

“It would be like a game of chess but I beat him”

A clash with Mayweather was much touted for Khan in the early 2010s, but the opportunity – which would almost certainly be a career high-paying day for the Bolton man – never presented itself.

Khan decided to hang up his gloves earlier this yearcall time for a glittering career that has seen him win two world titles and have a string of major battles on both sides of the Atlantic.

His last outing was in a long-awaited feud with Kell Brook in February of this year, in which Khan was defeated via equalizer.
