American Oaks, Mathis Mile Points Restored
American Oaks (G1) and Santa Anita Mathis Mile Stakes (G2), two of three classified shares that took off on December 26 at Santa Anita . Park After the rainy weather in Southern California, the U.S. Grading Committee restored the student’s score after review.

Under the tiered stake rules, races will automatically drop by one level when moving from one surface to another, although the committee may assess the race within five days and restore level again if the race is worthy of its original level.
Three horses were scraped off San Gabriel, leaving only four competitors. Only one has ever escaped Mathis Mile and American Oaks.
Restoring tier 1 status provides reptiles in American Oaks with the coveted top tier black color. Purebred Eclipse and TOLO Partners’ Goddess Queen , coached by Michael McCarthy, won American Oaks against Katsumi Yoshida’s The most beautiful and Head of Plains Partners’ Smooth socks .
