Isuzu D-Max facelift 2024 launched in Malaysia – 5 variants; 1.9L, 3.0L diesel engine; Price from RM99k
Isuzu Malaysia today launched a new model Upgrade D-Max continues to be offered in 5 variants, all imported completely built (CBU) from Thailand. The refreshed pickup has an updated design and equipment list but retains the same two inline four-cylinder turbodiesel engines as before.

These engines are mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, with all variants having all-wheel drive as standard except the Auto Plus. A locking rear differential is also standard with all four-wheel drive variants – more on variants and prices below.
For 2024, the engines are now Euro 4 emissions compliant with the addition of a diesel particulate filter (DPF). There’s also a new ‘Rough Terrain Mode’ which is standard on Premium and X-Terrain variants and can be activated via a dedicated button on the center console. This function uses the traction control and braking system to help overcome rougher terrain and can be used in 2H, 4H and 4L modes.
The D-Max lineup starts with the Single Cab before moving on to four double cab options (Standard, Auto Plus, Premium and X-Terrain). In total, there are eight variant/powertrain configurations available for the D-Max and here’s how they cost on the road without insurance:

The D-Max is now in its third generation and the facelift brings a revised front end that promotes better aerodynamics and improved cooling. First, the redesigned front grille retains its “canine-like” details, while the insert for the large lower intake features a honeycomb mesh design.
There’s also a new front bumper with a black surface near the sharper fog light cutouts, and the rear bumper has an air curtain to let air out through the wheel arches. Another notable modification is the slightly tweaked hood and new headlights, the rear headlights are reshaped and now have integrated indicators along with different daytime running lights.
The X-Terrain serves as the top variant of the D-Max range and is set apart from the rest thanks to black body cladding on the wheel arches, side steps and a faux skid plate on the lower front apron . The Range-topper also gives you welcome lighting on the outside as well as seven-color ambient lighting that now extends to the front door cards.
At the rear, the new D-Max’s taillights have a more distinctive three-tiered look and the tailgate has been tweaked to have creases at the top and bottom rather than on the sides. Other changes inside include a new e-Lumax multi-information display (MID) in the instrument cluster and a move to a USB-C port (formerly USB-A). The X-Terrain now has a larger 10-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and wireless CarPlay, while the Premium and Auto Plus come with a 9-inch version. The smaller variants will instead have a standard head unit.
The updated D-Max in X-Terrain guise is also improved with a new generation stereo camera setup that has a wider field of view of 120 degrees (previously it was only 40 degrees) and can identify vehicles ahead. ahead at a distance of up to 150 meters. Moving up to the Standard Edition, you get 17-inch alloy wheels (255/65 profile tires), bulb-style front fog lights, bulb-style tail lights, side sills, e-Lumax instrument cluster with 4.2-inch MID, seven-inch touchscreen head unit, six-speaker manual air conditioning with rear vents, cloth seats, same passive safety/assist system as the Single Cab ( includes only two airbags), reversing camera and four reversing sensors.
