Amazon wants to send its employees back to the office.

Three years after the COVID-19 pandemic forced companies to bring workers homeAmazon said Friday that it plans to require employees to be in the office at least three days a week, starting May 1.

in one company blog post Speaking to employees, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the shift to face-to-face work makes it easier to collaborate, learn, and build a workplace culture.

“I am also optimistic that this change will give impetus to thousands of businesses around our urban headquarters locations in Puget Sound, Virginia, Nashville and dozens of cities around the world where our employees come to the office,” he wrote.

Jassy said there will be some exceptions to the combined working model, such as sales and customer support roles, “but that would be a small minority.”

IN October 2021Amazon has adopted a flexible approach to allow managers of individual teams to decide how many days the company’s employees will be in the office.
