All new cars revealed at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is more than just a fleet of cars speeding up a hill.
It’s a celebration of cars and in recent years car manufacturers have used this motorsport festival in the UK to showcase their latest and greatest cars.
This year, many of these revelations are about electric vehicles – but some internal combustion engine vehicles also appear.
Here is a list of some of the new models that will debut at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Caterham
EV concept Seven
Caterham has unveiled its EV Seven technology development concept, which aims to test the feasibility of bringing a lightweight battery-powered electric vehicle to market with comparable capabilities to a petrol-powered model.
The Caterham EV Seven concept is based on the iconic Seven chassis and was designed in collaboration with Swindon Powertrain Ltd.

VU project
Caterham will soon no longer only produce variants of a car dating back to 1957.
The British sports car company has just unveiled Project V, an all-electric coupe concept that is “likely” to go into production in late 2025 or early 2026.
The Caterham Project V concept has been designed by the company’s new chief designer, Anthony Jannarelly, and built by Italian engineering firm Italdesign.

Ferrari
KC23
Ferrari has unveiled the latest in its Special Projects program, a one-of-a-kind race car designed specifically for non-competitive use.
Dubbed the Ferrari KC23, this one-off car was commissioned by “one of the top collectors of the Stambing Horse”. It took more than three years to develop.
KC23 used very successfully Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 as the basis and retain the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 located in the middle of the racer’s rear.

Ford
Mustang Mach-E . Race
When the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E was revealed in late 2019, it was the first time that a Mustang-branded vehicle had four doors. Now it has moved even further away from its chariot roots.
Dubbed the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, the new variant revealed at Goodwood will be available first in the US and Europe and the sports-inspired tweaks are, of course, race-inspired.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is a more attractive, race-ready version of the Korean automaker’s electric crossover, first revealed in 2021.
A spokesperson for Hyundai Australia has confirmed the Ioniq 5 N will arrive locally in the first half of 2024.
One of the main highlights of the Ioniq 5 N is its dual-motor four-wheel drive system, which produces a total system power of 448 kW and 740 Nm of torque.
There’s also an ‘N Grin Boost’ (NGB) function that boosts power output to 478kW and 770Nm in 10 seconds.

Ineos
Demonstration of Grenadier Hydrogen
Ineos has revealed the fuel cell hydrogen demonstration version (FCEV) of its rugged all-terrain vehicle Grenadier.
Designed in collaboration with Austrian engineering firm AVL, this demonstration Ineos Grenadier uses the BMW Group’s “latest” FCEV hydrogen powertrain, which is claimed to be “the most advanced and powerful in its class” automotive sector”.
Ineos has not provided any details or claims about the outputs on the hydrogen fuel cell powertrain other than to say the electric actuators provide “real torque vectoring drive control”. for each rear wheel”.

The fledgling off-road specialist Ineos is launching a go-anywhere car of its own with the Grenadier Quartermaster.

SC63 LMDh
Lamborghini unveiled its first Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh) prototype at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Dubbed SC63, the driver will compete in the Hypercar class of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship including races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Endurance Cup including races like 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.
Manufacturers including Acura, BMW, Cadillac and Porsche already have LMDh racers. Alpine recently unveiled its A424 LMDh race car and like the Lamborghini SC63, it will start racing in 2024.

MG continued to be tight-lipped about the specs of its Cyberster electric truck even after showing it off at Goodwood, but engineers shared a wild number.
When asked specifically about the Cyberster’s rumored performance, SAIC Motor’s director of electric powertrain engineering, Wang Jian confirmed the sports car is not only capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in laps. less than three seconds but when tested, it achieved a time of 2.6 seconds.
“I just tested it on the test field, and it was amazing, it was crazy,” said Wang Jian.

MG 4 XSPower
MG has revealed the global version of the all-wheel drive, two-wheel drive Mulan Triumph Edition electric vehicle.
Now wear MG 4 XSPower nameplate, the hot hatch produces 320kW of power and 600Nm of torque.
That’s 10kW and 100Nm more than a Mercedes-AMG A45 S, and enough for this small car to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds with launch control.

EX4 concept
The MG EX4 concept uses the MG 4 XPower as its base and is a modern take on the iconic MG Metro 6R4 Group B race car from the 1980s.
The concept is equipped with the same twin-motor electric powertrain as the MG 4 XPower, producing a total system output of 320 kW and 600 Nm of torque.

Porsche has celebrated its 75th anniversary to present its latest supercar, the replacement for the 918 Spyder, in the form of an all-electric Mission X concept.
The Mission X is an electric supercar that Porsche says will become the fastest road-legal car on the Nürburgring, replacing the Mercedes-AMG One. That is, if it goes into production – which we doubt it will.
While details around its powertrain are sketchy, the German marque claims it will have a power-to-weight ratio of one PS (0.735kW) per kilogram with significantly more downforce. compared to the recently launched 992 911 GT3 RS.
