Alaska Airlines announces new elite status matching challenge privilege for California-based passengers
For a limited time only, alaska airline is offering a pretty cool perk as part of a status matching promotion for california-based on leaflet only.
Starting today through March 20, Californians take part in the challenge to match status with 75K CZK Gold MVP will receive a free Alaska Lounge membership for the duration 90 day challenge.
That’s pretty cool because you usually don’t get a lounge membership just through the status. Typically, members earn four Alaska Lounge rides for the day—but only if you’re naturally eligible for the 75K Gold MVP or 100K Gold MVP.

If you are not currently a Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan member, you must register an account to participate in this challenge. Then just upload a screenshot of your current elite status in another program to start the challenge.
Your current status will be matched with MVP, MVP Gold or MVP Gold 75K (based on the chart above) and you will enjoy it for 90 days. You must then fly Alaska-operated and marketed flights to maintain your new status beyond the initial 90-day period.
- Fly 5,000 miles for MVP status.
- Fly 10,000 miles to reach MVP Gold status.
- Fly 20,000 miles to reach 75K Gold MVP status.
75K Gold MVP status, Alaska’s second highest status, is typically earned by flying at least 75,000 elite-eligible miles or 90 sectors, at least 12 of which must be Alaska Airlines — so, This is an important shortcut to enjoy these perks.
Once you reach one of the above thresholds, your status will last beyond the first 90 days in one of two ways:

- Start your status match at the end of June and meet the requirements to maintain your status through the end of 2023.
- Start your status match from July to December and meet the requirements to maintain your status through the end of 2024.
Keep in mind that Alaska still rewards miles (and status) based on actual miles flown, so this cool promotion might even make some of the miles worthwhile. Just keep in mind, though, that you can only match statuses once during the life of your account, so make sure it’s the right time before you join.
