Air Fryer Chicken Tenders – A Beautiful Mess

I have admitted in the past that we do air fried chicken wings almost every week at our home. And now, these air-fried chicken tenders are in full swing too!

Today, I’m sharing a homemade version of this recipe, but I’m not above buying breaded chicken pieces and tossing them in the air fryer.

But if you’re looking to make your own bread with simple ingredients like flour, eggs, and panko, then this is the product for you.

Ingredients for Air Fried Chicken Tender:

  • Chicken tenderloins – raw (or defrost first if they’re frozen)
  • All-purpose powder
  • Egg
  • Panko & Italian Breadcrumbs – or you can make your own breadcrumbs from leftover bread
  • Olive oil spray – normally, I throw everything in a little bit of oil to air fry but that won’t work for the coating here, so it’s best to spray.

How long is the chicken tendering time in the air fryer?

Fry the chicken at 390°F for 12 minutes, turning the chicken once in the middle of the baking time.

Again, this is for raw chicken (or raw frozen chicken that has been defrosted). Cooking time may be less when fully cooked chicken tenders to buy at the store.

Can you put raw chicken in the fryer?

Yes, for sure. This air fryer chicken tenderizer recipe is made with raw chicken. The air fried chicken wings The recipe is made with raw chicken wings.

I have no trouble with sticky things in my air fryer, but if you have, you can add wax paper before cooking.

Ideas on what to serve with tender chicken:

You can also turn these air fryer chicken pieces into simple chicken parmesan by adding some tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. Interesting! so so. Emma
