It’s hard to believe it was almost 12 years ago when we first introduced PlayStation Plus to the world, with Wipeout HD being one of the first games made available to PlayStation Plus members. The PlayStation Plus product has evolved over the years with more than 1,000 games offered to members globally. We regularly improve our services to provide an attractive package of services to the 47 million members who are part of today’s service. And just eight years ago, we launched PlayStation Now as an open beta, and since then it’s grown into a full-fledged service loved by over three million users in select markets.
Starting today, we take our services one step further. I’m excited to join our PlayStation community in Asia to celebrate the new three-tier benefit offering from PlayStation Plus. The rollout starts today in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, and will be followed by Japan next week. North and South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand markets will launch next month.
This is an exciting time for us as we begin to bring our huge portfolio of games* to PlayStation players around the globe. Bringing high-quality games to the service is our priority, and we’re excited to launch some of the most popular titles, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, NBA 2K22, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Returnal for Extra and Premium/Luxury Membership. We will also feature beloved classics like Ape Escape, Super Stardust Portable, Siphon Filters, Tekken2, and more – these iconic games will look great when you play them on PS5 and PS4. Our game catalog will refresh from time to time with more exciting titles and I look forward to experiencing this.
It has been an incredible journey to where we are today and I am truly proud of the many teams across SIE that have worked tirelessly to transform our services to add value and flexibility for our customers. All in all, our teams have kept you, the player, central in the decisions we make to create a subscription to this compelling game.
