Last year, lovely life simulation game Cozy Grove launched on Switch, and though We gave a slightly lukewarm review At the time, we were still captivated by the stunning visuals and committed to being a game that requires very little of your time.
With one the fact that the number of updates has been rather ridiculous since thenthe game just continues to grow and attract more fans – obviously enough for a sequel (tentative title) Cozy Grove 2).
Here’s what the Spry Fox developers had to say on their website about the reasoning behind the sequel:
A major challenge we face is that it has become increasingly difficult for us to continue delivering updates as our technology debt grows, despite our many efforts over the past year to solve that problem. At the same time, most of the revenue and financial support the platform pays for all these free updates came to us over a year before the game’s launch.
All of this combined makes it possible to deliver the new content and features our community is telling us they want (like new places to explore.) So, we have concluded that the best thing for Cozy Grove and for all their fans is for us to commit to making a sequel!
The important things to note about Cozy Grove 2 are that it will take some time – Spry Fox hopes “to be completed by the end of 2023”, but doesn’t promise – and it will contain new ghost bears, environments and the return of beloved characters like Flamey and Scoutmaster Blake.
We want to do this right and bring you more of the things you love, along with brand new features that will delight you. You’ve all been so kind and supportive of us and we want Cozy Grove 2 to be worth it for you.
