COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo – A dog that went missing for two weeks in Colorado was rescued from a ledge about 50 feet above a creek and is now back home.
An animal control officer with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Area anchored himself to a wooden fence and used a harness and climbing rope provided by a man living nearby during the December 1 rescue. via. Facebook.
The dog was later identified via a microchip and her tag as Jessie Lee immediately wagged her tail and crawled towards the officer but the ground began to slide out from underneath the dog, the humane society said. .

The officer placed a pole around the dog’s neck and shoulders to slowly and safely pull Jessie Lee closer so she wouldn’t fall. Another officer then lowered a second leash tied to the dog’s makeshift harness and pulled them both up to safety, the humanitarian organization said.
Jessie Lee has been reunited with her owners, who have been searching daily since she went missing two weeks ago, the humanitarian society said.
