Zeekr has made its debut in Singapore just weeks after the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand was introduced in Thailand. As in Thailandthe X is the first Zeekr model to be sold in Singapore, with Multi-purpose vehicle 009 will be deployed in the near future.

There are two variants of the X on offer in Singapore, starting with the base RWD version that retails for S$199,999 (around RM666,000) including COE, followed by the top-of-the-line AWD version that costs S$214,999 (RM716,000) – Thailand also gets two options.

In terms of specifications, both variants are equipped with a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with a net energy capacity of 66 kWh (69 kWh gross). The standard RWD version with a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 272 PS (268 hp or 200 kW) and 343 Nm of torque will provide a range of up to 440 km according to the WLTC standard.

Meanwhile, the dual-motor Flagship AWD has 28 PS (422 hp or 315 kW) and 543 Nm of torque but has a shorter range of up to 420 km. With more power, the Flagship AWD will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds compared to the Standard AWD’s 5.6 seconds.

Both variants support DC fast charging at a peak power of 150 kW, allowing for a 10-80% charge in around 28 minutes. For AC charging, the maximum power is 7.2 kW for the Standard RWD and 11 kW for the Flagship AWD, with the latter offering a full charge in around seven hours.

In terms of equipment, the X comes standard with full-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, vegan-friendly leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone climate control.

The Flagship AWD trim level naturally gets more features than the base option, including multi-color ambient lighting, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, front seat ventilation, a 13-speaker Yamaha audio system (the base option gets the usual seven-speaker setup), a display outside the B-pillar for charging status, and 19-inch alloy wheels (the base option gets 18-inch wheels).

Most of these upgrades are available as options on the standard RWD, with the exception of the 20-inch forged wheels, which are a variant-specific add-on for the AWD Flagship. Thankfully, the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are identical across the range.

Features include adaptive cruise control with automatic lane change, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, open door warning, evasive maneuvering assist, front and rear cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera. There’s also Sentry Mode, which uses the camera to record video of the area around the car if it detects suspicious activity.

While Thailand and Singapore have already welcomed the Zeekr, we’re still waiting for our turn sometime this year. Like our neighbours, the X and 009 are the first models to come to us. In Thailand, the X is estimated to be priced between 1.199 million and 1.349 million baht (RM150,000 and RM169,000), so how much do you think the X will cost when it goes on sale here?
