There’s a new one GWM Haval Jolion hybrid It has now arrived at the dealership but the gasoline model will look very familiar.
Confusingly, GWM has taken the Chitu/Red Rabbit – a product closely related to the existing Jolion, which went into production the same year – and is introducing it to various global markets such as the ours.
However, the new-look SUV arrives here only in hybrid form, replacing the ‘old-look’ Jolion Hybrid models.
Not only does it look fresh (for Australia), the new Jolion Hybrid also brings a multi-link independent rear suspension system, previously only reserved for the sporty Jolion S.
However, the sportier design reduces trunk space, down from 337L to 255L.
Those who like the old-fashioned car can still buy it, albeit only running on gasoline. Regardless of exterior appearance, all models share the same overall interior design.
Prices for gasoline models have dropped by $1,000 to $1,500, while hybrid models are up to $2,000 cheaper than the models they replace.
While the petrol models don’t get a new exterior, they do get some visual tweaks including a revised grille and bumpers.
The steering wheel now has four-way adjustment, replacing the two-way adjustment of the previous updated model.
The petrol-powered Ultra and S models have been discontinued, as has the 1.6-litre turbo-4 used in the latter, with the old form factor limited to the spec-spec Premium and Lux trim levels lower technique
However, there is a new Premium Hybrid version, which reduces the cost of using the hybrid Jolion.
Whether this alleviates confusion or causes more confusion, GWM will market the new-look hybrid models as the Jolion Hybrid rather than the Jolion Pro – despite that name appearing on the tailgate .
“The rear of the vehicle carries the Jolion Pro badge (in line with the global naming scheme) but to simplify communication and further reinforce the Jolion nomenclature, the model will be marketed commercially,” the company said. under the name GWM Jolion Hybrid in the ANZ region”. .
GWM is continuing its ‘Masterbrand’ strategy and has placed the GWM brand prominently on the back door as it de-emphasizes the Haval name which is now technically a sub-brand in Australia.
