British man driving for half a century without a license
The world is almost unrecognizable compared to 50 years ago. Internet starts from a closed computer communication network between universities and research centers to a common part of the developed world. According to police, a man in Derby, England decided to start driving no license more than 50 years ago. He was not stopped by law enforcement until last weekend.
In case you lost it:
BBC News reported that Derbyshire Road Police stopped a 69-year-old man driving a Hyundai in a Derby shopping center on Saturday. Police believe the driver has been operating a motor vehicle without a license for at least 50 years and has never taken a driving test. The alleged driver had his vehicle confiscated by police and was reported on several counts.
Derbyshire Police claim the driver was arrested because he bragged about his alleged crimes. Organ statement on Twitter, “He systematically provided details to insurance companies indicating that he had a license but the flaw in his despicable scheme was bragging.” He wasn’t willing to get a license but made sure his car was insured.
British law enforcement agencies have stated that it is becoming increasingly difficult to get away with driving without a license. Last year, an 84-year-old British man was arrested after driving without a license or insurance. for more than 70 years. The country’s police agencies believe that the popularity of automatic number plate readers makes it easier to spot who is illegally on the road.
