Unlike me who still haven’t found a way stop shopping, my mother almost never treats her. Ever since she moved from LA to a small coastal town in Michigan a few years ago, the temptation to live near countless shopping spots has disappeared and she rarely shops online. So when she texted me the other day with plans to go to Chicago for the weekend and asked me about Ideas on what to get at Nordstrom (where I grew up in suburban Chicago, Nordstrom is holy ground for most things), I was visibly shocked. Well, shocked And excited. Because the only thing I love more than treating myself is convincing others to do the same.
Naturally, I dropped everything and started researching. We basically had an informational interview in which she guided me through the missing items in her wardrobe; the Jeans, the clothes and shoe styles she’s most passionate about; and the brands she’s been loyal to for years. Then I have to work.
Too many hours later—I tend to get carried away—the shopping list below came out and was then excitedly ticked off by my mother. She has her version saved to her phone so she can refer to it at northern. I turned mine into this story.
