According to the report’s introduction, the AHA does not intend the toolkit to be all-inclusive. Instead, it is a companion to other resources in the AHA playbook that address the long-term sustainability of the healthcare workforce. Each part includes:

AHA has developed the team building and previously released sections – Team Support and Data and Technology to Support the Workforce – under an action framework.
The framework addresses current and short- and long-term challenges, including creating a healing culture, innovative people, technology solutions, updating care model design, integrating technology, leadership development, educational models and pathways, strategic workforce planning, and more.
Each section contains links to studies, articles, models and assessment tools, as well as advice that can help. Hospital and health system leaders revolve around their team building approaches.
Notably, Chapter 4 on Data and Analytics discusses the collection of internal data for decision-making from HR departments and additional internal data sources, such as the daily patient census. dates, quality measures and financial records.
“Data is a team effort. Without a doubt, there is a wealth of important information across the organization that, when aggregated, provides insights,” advises the toolkit.
“As you move into testing different interventions and models, make sure you invest in collecting and reviewing data to evaluate these metrics.”

A report shows 90% of nurses are considering quitting.
It is imperative that health system leaders work to address workforce challenges, including pandemics, safety concerns, technology challenges, EHR dissatisfaction and burdensome documentation requirements.
