Frazer Clarke In Usyk-Joshua rematch: AJ’s A Winner
Frazer Clarke believes Robert Garcia is one of Anthony Joshua’s top rivals.
The heavyweight boxer will return to the ring on July 30 at Bournemouth International Center.
Clarke, who turned pro after the Olympics, signed with 258 Management and signed an advertising deal with Ben Shalom’s Boxxer and Sky Sports, which debuted earlier this year.
The 30-year-old West Midlands man met first teammate Jake Darnell in a paid match in February, following Kell Brook’s destructive save against longtime rival Amir Khan.
And after facing an injury that has kept him out of action, Clarke will be back in the spotlight Chris Billam-Smith vs Isaac Chamberlain.
Before returning to meet Poland’s Michal Boloz, Clarke talked about his mentor Joshua’s thoughts going into a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk dethroned ‘AJ’ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London last September and will book the WBA Super, IBF, IBO and WBO world heavyweight titles when the pair meet again on August 20 at Saudi Arabic.
In one chat with Boxing Social’s Ayman KhanThe Eraser’ said:
“Robert Garcia can advise Joshua.
“He’s experienced, he’s been there and done it and it’s not his first game.
“He’s straight, straight to the point, he knows what he wants from his boxer and he asks for it so he can only be a good addition.”
Angel Fernandez, who is also a part of Joshua’s coaching staff, trains Clarke, but he thinks those in Joshua’s corner tonight will struggle to find the perfect boxer to bring in to prepare the man. their.
“You can bring in a Southpaw, you can get durable synergies, you can get nimble ones, big ones, those that can move their legs and head, a few that can. You can hit a lot of shots –– you just need a little coordination –– because it’s hard to match Usyk’s style.
“[Joshua is] an active geezer who didn’t fulfill his game plan well last time, but he is determined, he wants to win and wants revenge.
“The fact that he was with us in Loughborough and now that he has come to Jeddah early to get to know him and work harder says everything about him.
“He’s a winner and all he wants to do is win this fight.”
