Hyundai Recall Recall to Fix Seat Fire Repair Due to Ioniq Hybrid Relay Failure
So regardless of what some people Do you think, most auto recalls are no big deal. They are the inevitable result of thousands of people working on a design with thousands of parts and then asking thousands of other people and robots to build it. Of course, when a recall is made, and then that recall triggers another, that’s a different story.
Unfortunately for Hyundai owners 2017 and 2018 Ioniq Hybrid and PHEV, that’s the situation they’re in, although it seems the work problems here are enough to ignite the Hyundai (you’ll see why that’s funny in a minute). The recall specifically stems from a bad relay in a car’s electrical relay assembly, which was initially recalled because it had a poor connection, which could cause increased resistance and, as a result, a lot of heat. A large amount of heat can set things on fire, and it’s terrible to burn cars, especially in hybrids and electric vehicles.
The fix for this first recall, which occurred in 2018, is simple and involves only replacing the main relay if nothing is damaged, or replacing the entire electrical relay assembly if something is missing. that was overcooked. That hasn’t worked out, though, because currently 10,575 owners of the affected cars are having their vehicles recalled for the same problem, with concerns that their rear seats could catch on fire. there’s a joke!).
The fix for this recall is the same as the fix for the last one, and like all recalls, it will be done free of charge by your dealer. Owners of affected vehicles may receive notification by mail on or around August 26. If you have questions in the meantime, you can contact our customer service department.
