Lensrentals Reveals ‘Most Hired New Products of 2021’: Digital Photography Review
If you’re wondering which new products have proven to be the most popular throughout 2021, Lensrentals Are you insured? As it has done in the past, Lensrentals has published a list revealing the products released in 2021 that are most hired by photographers and videographers around the world.
As expected, last year’s list proved to be ‘somewhat unusual’, largely due to the industry-wide turmoil caused by COVID-19. Thankfully, this year has brought some sense of normalcy, where Lensrentals ‘was able to rebuild some of the moments it built on years ago.’
As has been the case with many rental homes over the past few years, video equipment has proven to be the most rented. Canon’s RF-mount cinema camera C70 took first place, with Sony’s FX3 cinema camera and Sony’s a1 stills coming in second and third, respectively.
Canon’s C70 is the company’s first Cinema EOS camera to adopt the company’s latest lens system, the RF mount. |
According to Lensrentals, the Canon C70 took first place by ‘a fairly wide margin’ and ‘most notably impressive as it really underpins the industry’s response to Canon’s RF lens mount.’ Sony was equally impressed with the new compact FX3 taking second place and the still camera a1 taking third place. The a1 is notable as it is the first of only three stills in the top 10, with the Nikon’z Z7 II and Leica’s Q2 Monochrom remaining in the 7th and 9th positions respectively.
