Nine more women are accusing Bill Cosby of sexual assault in a new lawsuit, shortly after the state dropped a statute of limitations for such cases.

The lawsuit, filed in Nevada federal court on Wednesday, alleges that the 85-year-old actor and comedian “used his immense power, fame, and prestige” to isolate and assault Surname. The women say Cosby drugged and assaulted them during encounters that took place between 1979 and 1992 at homes, locker rooms and hotels across Nevada.

lawsuit comes just two weeks after Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo signed an invoice eliminated the two-year period for adults to sue their alleged perpetrators for sexual abuse damages. Cosby faces other sexual assault lawsuits in California, New York and New Jersey, which have passed similar “revision laws.”

In the Nevada lawsuit, the plaintiffs also allege that Cosby claimed to be interested in helping them or their careers on the grounds of isolating and sexually assaulting them.

Among them is former model and reality TV star Janice Dickinson, who testify against Cosby in his 2018 criminal trial in Pennsylvania to prove that the comedian’s 2004 assault of Andrea Constand was not an isolated case. According to a recent lawsuit, Dickinson was raped by Cosby at a Lake Tahoe hotel after taking a pill Cosby gave her to relieve menstrual cramps.

Cosby spent nearly three years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Constand, a former employee of the girls’ basketball team at Cosby’s alma mater, Temple University, before his convictions were overturned and he was released in 2021. Last year, Cosby was asked to pay $500,000 compensating a woman who said he sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 16 years old.

Over the years, more than 60 women have accused Cosby of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment. He continues to deny all allegations.

Cosby’s publisher, Andrew Wyatt, dismissed the plaintiff’s claim in a statement emailed to NPR on Thursday.

Wyatt said: “It is disappointing to see that these alleged distractions are able to monetize the false allegations against Mr Cosby. “Merson Law Firm, along with these alleged distractions, are promoting false stories of celebrity potential and greed in the media. Mr. Cosby went on to invoke Constitutional Rights. by saying, “Not guilty” and vehemently denying all the charges against him.”
