7-seat SUV Chery Tiggo 8 Pro launched in Malaysia in June – updated Max version coming soon, CKD

Here are some updates from Chery from Auto Shanghai 2023, where we are now. We know that omoda 5 The SUV is due in June, but the exciting B-SUV won’t be alone in relaunching the Chery brand – Chery Tiggo 8 Pro will also go with it, making it a duo for the intro. both will be locally assembled at Inokom’s factory in Kulim, it will be the world’s first factory to CKD this model in right-hand drive form.

Tiggo 8 Pro is part of Chery Malaysia local preview back in October 2022, but the CKD car is in fact an improved version and we caught sight of the latest Tiggo 8 Pro Max in Wuhu, Chery’s hometown. The three-row SUV gets an updated look with a new “galactic” grille with bolder details and an illuminated Chery emblem. The rear end stands out with a full-width LED strip and a fancy T-shaped third brake light. The wheels are now 19-inch items, an inch up.

The outside is more beautiful now, but inside the Tiggo 8 Pro Max shines. The large SUV features a horizontal and modern dashboard design with must-have features like a sync display, inline AC vents, and a tall center console. It’s all much neater now, and there are places where you’ll find bold Mercedes details – think switches, perforated wood trim and Burmester-style speaker grilles.

The steering wheel is also new with the words Chery instead of the logo. Speaking of logos, there’s the Tiggo logo on the side of the center display and the rear AC vent area. Smart kit, the maximum number for airbags and Sony speakers has been increased.

There are 1.6T and 2.0T versions of the Tiggo 8 Pro Max in China, but we will only get the larger engine. Another difference is the name – Chery’s flagship model in Malaysia will be called Tiggo 8 Pro, without the Max suffix on this CDM device. Basically, we will have a Max without a name that is a bit unwieldy. Expect the price of this seven-seater SUV to be in the range of Honda CR-VA And Mazda CX-8. The second type is also a three-row model, a direct competitor.

Chery Malaysia officials told us that variant PHEV of Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro have been confirmed for Malaysia and we can expect the launch to take place early next year. What do you think of the latest Tiggo 8 Pro compared to Beads X90 and the Mazda CX-8?
