Les Francaises has a knack for making things as easy as un, deux, trois. From the way they do their makeup without makeup to the way they draw it Ouija boardFrench women seem to have easy cornered. This is especially true in winter, when looking cute can seem like a Hercule quest. Even in sub-zero temperatures, French women can walk comfortably, which feels new to this Californian; The last thing I want to do when it’s cold and gray is look back.
But the French have science! This is partly due to the way they shop. French women usually invest in a few good pieces each season, prioritizing timeless pieces over new trends. A well-cut jacket. Clings to durable fabrics and drapes well. After my first winter in Paris, I learned a few tips to make dressing in cold weather more enjoyable—as well as a fleece jacket and a pair of camel riding boots that I still own to this day (after all, practice makes perfect.)
