Coming to you from Lucy Martin, this excellent video discusses six trends we’re likely to see in the photo industry in 2023. Sure, the two that I’ll be most interested in below are AI photo editing and creation. We’ve seen a huge variety of AI editing programs and tools, and I’ve found a lot of them to be legitimately useful. For example, Lightroom’s new AI mask saved me a lot of time and also helped me make more precise edits. I look forward to seeing what new tools 2023 brings. On the other hand, we have seen an explosion of AI image generators and how this will affect the industry and the way photographers work remains to be seen. We can see anything from photographers using AI mood boards to plan their shoots to completely quickly generated archival images and everything in between.
