5 worst portrait pose techniques
When it comes to portrait poses, there are some great poses, some not so great, and then there are poses that are so serious that they must be avoided at all costs.
In this video, I discuss what I consider to be the five worst posing techniques that portrait and headshot photographers have used in the past and still use today. . My list includes every pose you’d find for glamor shots at the mall, circa 1993, and although I’ve only listed five examples in the video, there’s definitely more. so again. My list includes “The Hard Lean,” in which the subject leans precariously toward the camera; “Wrath Shoulder”, where the subject’s front shoulder is pointed directly at the camera, resulting in a confrontational look and a completely contorted head; and more.
I’d love to know what your favorite portrait pose is in the comments below. Maybe it’s “One Leg On A Ladder” or the always-loved “Fist Under The Chin”? Remember this is all fun. I’ve used some of these poses in the past, which I also allude to in the video. I hope you enjoy this video.
