The title of this video is catchy, but the real draw for me is the thumbnail — it happens to be in my favorite place to shoot at night: Tokyo. In fact, I’ve stood in the very places where this video was shot, taking similar pictures. I love night photography and have always loved taking pictures, but thanks to modern cameras, this is now possible and more versatile than ever.
On my first camera, I was lucky enough to be able to shoot at ISO 800 and get an image without much noise. Now, with the most modern cameras, I usually shoot at ISO 3,200 or higher and it’s almost impossible to tell, even before I apply any noise reduction. This is useful if you are a wedding photographer for example, but it gives freedom in many other ways. Being able to shoot on the street, at night, hand-held, is something I love to do and it just keeps getting easier.
