We spend a lot of time talking about the elements when shooting portraits that revolve around the subject, such as posing and retouching, but of course, a good photo must have a balanced composition. This amazing video tutorial will show you five steps to create an engaging portrait composition that is beyond what we are used to seeing today.

We’re quite used to seeing portraits taken with a wide aperture that can turn the background into a blurry and fuzzy blob, and although those are certainly fine for many applications , but sometimes they can be a bit one-sided. Adding a bit of context around your subject can really help enhance the final image. Of course, even though Jirsa is shooting on the tracks here, remember this is a park and you should always stay away from real train tracks, as shooting at them is both dangerous and illegal.
