Scott Piercy extended his Round 1 lead on Friday at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities and has a three-stroke advantage over Emiliano Grillo and a five-stroke lead over third-place Callum Tarren on the Festival of Motion. The tournament has become Piercy’s to lose by half a point, but there are several heavyweights waiting to be wiped out if he falters in the final two innings.

Tony Finau was the biggest of these names as he assisted his 67 in Round 1 with 68 in Round 2 and is still on this list after a month of perhaps his best golf day of the year. he. Just by the numbers, I love Finau and Hoge here. The out-of-control hitter will probably catch up to Piercy at some point, and Finau and Hoge are hitting the ball like tournament winners right now. Hoge not only leads on green tees but also leads in approach shots and will have a lot of pictures over the next two days. Six shots looks like a lot, but it’ll probably be shorter after the third round. I prefer Hoge at 14-1 to Finau at 11/2, but I will choose either.
