30,000 Tesla Model X recalled due to airbag deployment error
Tesla To be remember nearly 30,000 won Model X electric crossover as the passenger airbag may not deploy properly in a low-speed collision. Follow National Highway Traffic Safety Administrationmy site, iIf the front seat passenger is young, not wearing a seat belt and sitting in the wrong position, they could be injured by the safety device.
That being said, as of this writing, Tesla is not aware of any accidents, injuries or deaths related to the defect, according to NHTSA filings.
Like many Tesla recalls, the fix can be managed in an over-the-air update. NHTSA said notice letters to owners are expected to be sent out on January 14.
This is just the latest Tesla Model X recalls, with other recalls related to frontal collision avoidance, seat belts and pinched windows, among others. This recall also comes just over a week since Tesla recalls 40,000 Models electric cars because of power steering problems.
