2025 Ford Tourneo price and specs: Kia Carnival rival locked in for Australia

The 2025 Ford Tourneo – an eight-seat people mover version of the Transit Custom – has been confirmed for an Australian debut later this year.

Australia has never received the Ford Tourneo, which is due to arrive in local showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2024 (October to December inclusive) with two diesel-powered variants.

The base Active is priced from $65,990 before on-road costs, while the Titanium X costs $70,990 before on-road costs.

Those prices push it into the territory of the dominant Kia Carnival, which took more than 77 per cent of Australia’s new people mover sales in 2023, and is priced from $51,690 to $71,890 drive-away.

All examples of the Ford Tourneo are based on the Transit Custom Long Wheelbase (LWB), which is priced from $62,990 plus on-roads in flagship Sport Double Cab five-seater trim.

The Tourneo is known as the Tourneo Custom in Europe, and is the largest of a range of van-derived people movers wearing Tourneo badging.

Drivetrains

The Ford Tourneo is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 125kW of power and 390Nm of torque.

Power is sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

Efficiency

Ford hasn’t announced fuel economy figures for the Tourneo, though the Transit Custom – which uses the same engine but is lighter – has a claimed combined cycle figure of 8.0L/100km.

Dimensions

While Ford Australia hasn’t published dimensions for the Tourneo, the Transit Custom LWB measures 5450mm long, 2275mm wide, and 1961mm tall on a 3500mm wheelbase.

The Ford Tourneo has a braked towing capacity of 2500kg.

Servicing and Warranty

All Fords sold in Australia are backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Ford is yet to detail service pricing for the Tourneo.

The 2024 Ford Tourneo is yet to be tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP.
