2024 Audi RS Q6 e-tron spy

Audi quickly tested a faster version of it Q6 e-tron SUV at the Nurburgring.

Likely an S or RS model, the Q6 e-tron pictured here has a sportier front bumper than the regular car we’ve also seen tested recently. It also has larger wheels and red brake calipers hidden behind them.

The split-level headlights stay true to what we’ve seen from previous prototypes and what we expect from the next version. Audi A6while the slim tail lights share their LED signature with A3.

It would make sense for Audi to develop a proper performance version of the Q6, as it would share its platform (known as PPE) with a public performance orientation. Porsche Macan EVs.

PPE-based cars are expected to offer features like all-wheel drive, 800V electrical systems with up to 350kW fast charging and torque vectoring.

The Q6 e-tron is expected to offer a range of single-engine rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive, with a range of up to 480 km.

A twin engine RS Q6 e-tron can pump out up to 440kW of electricity. The RS e-tron GT, for reference, produces 440kW (475kW in boost mode) and 830Nm of torque, for a 0-100km/h time of 3.3 seconds.

The Q6 e-tron will join Audi’s list of SUVs, which will continue to include models with internal combustion engines through 2033 – and potentially beyond in China.

Past spy photos also gave us a glimpse of the Q6 e-tron’s display setup, which includes a large, standalone digital instrument cluster and tablet-style central touchscreen.

It could be 2024 by the time we see the Q6 e-tron, originally scheduled to launch in 2023.

Reports from Europe citing sources within Audi and Porsche suggest that challenges at the Volkswagen Group’s software subsidiary, Cariad, are to blame.
