2023 Modenas Dominar D400 Adventure and D250 launch in Malaysia, priced at RM15,797 and RM13,797
New for Malaysian motorcycle maker Modenas is 2023 Modenas Domineer D400 Adventure and D250, priced at RM15,797 and RM13,797 respectively. Debut at Malaysia Autoshow 2023, Dominar D400 received an update in 2019 and is now styled as a touring motorcycle.
This is done with the addition of a taller windshield, new arm guards, foot guards, engine shields and passenger backrests. Driving conveniences now include a smartphone holder with a USB charging port and navigation software.
The power of Dominar D400 comes from the first generation KTM Duke 390 single-cylinder engine, capacity of 373 cc, compliant with Euro 4 standards. Using a cylinder head with three spark plugs, D400 Adventure has a capacity of 40 horsepower with 35 Nm of torque is transmitted to the rear wheels through a gearbox equipped with a six-speed slipper clutch and final drive by chain.
Suspension is done with non-adjustable 43 mm diameter upside-down forks and a Nitrox monoshock at the rear, preload adjustable. For the hydraulic single disc brake, responsible for front and rear brakes, and two-channel ABS as standard equipment.
With a weight of 182 kg, the Dominar D400 carries 13 liters of fuel in the tank. The Dominar D400 is available in two color options – Savanna Blue and Charcoal Black – and will be available at authorized Modenas dealers from this month.
Moving on to the Dominar D250, this 1/4 liter motorcycle entering the Malaysian market has the same specifications as the engine-saving Dominar D400. D250 is equipped with a single cylinder engine, capacity of 249 cc, liquid-cooled with twin-cylinder spark ignition.
The power of Dominar D250 is rated at 26.8 hp at 8500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. The D250 Alsop has a 37 mm diameter upside-down fork compared to the D400’s 43 mm, and the aluminum swingarm has been replaced with a box-type arm.
The Dominar D250 comes in three color options – Sparkling Black, Racing Red, and Citrus Rush. Dominar D250 stock will be available at Modenas Malaysia authorized dealer showrooms this month.
